Thomas Thune Andersen

I hold a portfolio of board positions in international publicly listed as well as privately owned companies mainly within the renewable energy, oil and marine sector, critical infrastructure and manufacturing. I am chairing Lloyd’s Register Group, UK and Ørsted A/S, Denmark one of the World’s leading renewable energy companies. I am also the Vice Chairman of VKR Holding A/S, Denmark, and Non-Executive Director at BW Group and IMI plc.

I was previously Non-Executive Director of SSE plc and BW Offshore, Chairman of DeepOcean Group Holding and Senior Independent Director of Petrofac plc.

During 32 years at A.P. Møller Mærsk I held numerous senior positions throughout the Group e.g. in Hong Kong, China, Indonesia, UK and USA and latterly as Partner and Member of the Executive Board, and Chief Executive Officer, Maersk Oil, based in Denmark. I am member of Danish Committee for Good Corporate Governance, a member of the World Economic Forum Chairmen’s Community, a member of Friends of Ocean Action, , a member of Gender Diversity Roundtable Denmark and chairman of the Women’s Board Award.

I have s a graduate diploma in foreign relations from Copenhagen Business School (CBS) and studied at Columbia University and Harvard University.

I am holder of Ridder af Dannebrogordenen and Freeman of the City of London.

I live in Charlottenlund, Denmark, am married to Lillan Thune Andersen and have two grown children.
