Mai-Britt Poulsen

I am BCG’s Global Chief of Staff and a member of the firm’s Executive Committee and Operating Committee. I bring a strategic approach to these roles and a deep understanding of BCG’s client service model to drive the firm’s strategy development and execution. I am also responsible for the firm’s biannual global Managing Director and Partner meeting.

Since joining BCG in 2004, I have held a number of leadership positions and client facing roles, particularly in the Consumer Goods and Retail sectors where I specialize. I also led BCG Denmark for nearly four years before I was appointed Global Chief of Staff.

I am a pioneer in BCG’s large scale end-to-end transformations and TURN programs, and sits on its Global Leadership Team for Transformation. I deeply enjoy working closely with clients to fundamentally change their performance trajectory by addressing multiple levers including strategic positioning, cost position, digital and other organizational enablers. Over my career, I have served clients from BCG offices all around the world, including the Nordic countries, greater Europe and US. Besides end-to-end transformation I have significant experience in Corporate strategy, M&A, Due Diligence work; pricing, Sales force effectiveness and organizational topics such as organizational structure, leadership, and enablement.

I am a strong values-driven leader with a great passion for cultivating deep engagement and action around diversity and inclusion. In 2016, I co-founded the Gender Diversity Roundtable (GDR) Denmark together with UN Women. GDR brings together 15 top leaders from Danish business communities, educational institutions, and organizations to accelerate and improve gender diversity and inclusion in Denmark.

I graduated from Copenhagen Business School with a M.Sc. in Finance and Accounting. Additionally I attended Stern School of Business in New York and Stockholm School of Economics. Before joining BCG, I worked with Nordea Corporate Finance.

I live in Copenhagen, Denmark, with my family and enjoys travelling the world and keeping a healthy lifestyle.
